What's on YOUR Christmas list?

Each year my Mum asks my sis and I what we would like from her for Christmas. Now that I'm married, MIL does the same - and so do DH and sis. So I need to write a list - just a few things and nothing pricey.

Anyhoo, I was wondering...what's on your wish list this year?

If my sis asks then I'll see if she can get any of these in duty free
YSL Touche Eclat

  • Dermalogica Skin Smoothing cream
  • Dermalogica Gentle Exfoliant
  • Benefit Highbeam highlighter and Benetint for cheeks/lips
Will be getting a "Surprise" from hubby (but will steer like mad - Elle McP underwear GOOD, Ann Summers underwear BAD)
The3Bears · 16/10/2010 18:36

I want a white waffle style egyptian cotton duvet like the one we slept in on holidays as oposed to my £7 asdas specials. On my list is also an ipod nano the old style and some new wellys (would love hunters but they are megas so have perused crocs ones but will prbs end up with wynsors finest). What is a well remover? Mine is jamming my leg in car door and pulling Grin

MilkNoSugarPlease · 16/10/2010 19:29

An Ipad (Yeah right!) or this, it's beautiful in real life :o absolutely beautiful :o

I will get neither mind :o

PfftTheMildySpookyDragon · 16/10/2010 21:20

I never have a list. Flight - it makes me feel uncomfortable as well - grabby. If someone asks me what I want, I feel horrid. If someone wants to buy something for me, that's great. But I don't like the "ordering" thing that seems to happen.

orienteerer · 16/10/2010 21:24

FitFlop "slippers"

Meglet · 16/10/2010 21:26

Mum hasn't asked me yet but I'm hoping to end up with some Hunter wellies, even if it has to be a joint present between a few people. I can't afford to buy myself too may things for most of the year so my family always get stuff I need instead of random clutter.

I'd like:

  • Dr Who dvds (David Tennant ones)
  • Books. Books, books, books.
  • That Dermot O'Leary cd that keeps being advertised at the moment.
  • New riding gear
  • Come to think of, some riding lessons would be nice too.
  • And a laptop would be great, but that's not going to happen!
taffetawitchescat · 16/10/2010 22:02

I want:

  • a Kitchen Aid
  • an iPad
  • GHDs
  • Brora cardi
  • some luscious long flat riding style boots

I am not going to get any of them as I don't really desperately need any of them and they are all out of budget.

I'll probably ask DH for some new wellies, mine have a tear in.

Goooooooooooooober · 16/10/2010 22:06

I have been saving for my new car for months and birthday is just before christmas so I will have cash for both from all that bother.

SE13Mummy · 16/10/2010 22:21

We set up ideas lists on here so family can look if they want to but not if they don't. My PiL and SiL (x3) love it because they never quite know what the DDs are into/what size clothes they wear and, if the truth be told, I rather like being able to post a few ideas and leave everyone else to it.

FWIW my list on there has a request for presents of pre-loved children's books suitable for my Y4 class. I'd be delighted to receive anything along those lines. One year I asked for dictionaries (albeit a specific one), 8 years of use later I still have a fantastic set of 12 dictionaries that are far better, in oh so many ways, than the rubbishy school ones.

plonker · 16/10/2010 23:06

Another one wanting an Ipad here! ( ...and another one not going to get one!)
A new bag
A camera
Five minutes peace ( ...this rates alongside the Ipad in terms of never-gonna-happeness)

Frrrrightattendant · 17/10/2010 07:24

Pfft - and Tippy - glad it isn't just me! That's it exactly - when I was a kid I would have the whole Argos catalogue number and everything all written up, but really, as an adult - well it feels a bit strange!

I've told my parents not to get me anything for a few years now and it's brilliant. No guilt, no hating whatever it was they thought I would love, and the best thing is I don't have to get them anything either - they never liked anything I chose. Sad

It was always just horrid trying so hard to please people and realising it wasn't working, and that in return they didn't understand me at all either.

I agree it's nice if someone who really 'gets' you, buys you something, but it would ruin the whole point to have to tell them what to get.

blueberryboybait · 17/10/2010 07:40

I hva an imaginary FC only dream list and if anyone askes I say I don't need anything spend it on the girls instead.

On my imaginary list is:

A kitchen aid mixer
Emma Bridgewater dinner set
a christmas fairy to dig and set new raised beds for me.
A day at a spa with massages, facial, luchand and sleep.

LunarSea · 17/10/2010 08:01

Seeing as last year dh gave me a bar of chocolate (which he then ate himself), a bottle of wine (which he then drank himself) and a bath bomb (which he than put in the DC's bath at the end of Christmas day) the chances aren't great, but...

Quite fancy a kindle, several books published lately that are on my to-read list, perfume, a decent haircut without being made to feel guilty becasue it's more expensive than clippers at the barbers, the gym subsription which was supposed to be my birthday present but still hasn't materialised, ear-rings (because I'm forever losing them), would love the offer of a free evening's babysitting as dh objects to paying and we're not had a real evening out together since we've had ds2 3.5 years ago.

LunarSea · 17/10/2010 08:05

Oh and this set of audio CD's - I work from home on the computer, and it can be deafeningly quiet (physically, not workload-wies) at times, so having something on in the background breaks the silence.

thisiswhataluv · 17/10/2010 08:14

me and dh dont want anything but money from family, we are wanting a new carpet for the stairs so hopefully will get this from our xmas money Smile

lucyspangle · 17/10/2010 20:24

  • Riding hat and books
  • Riding lessons always go down well
  • PJs
  • Some baking equipment
  • A dance mat and game for the Wii so hopefully I can lose some baby flab whilst not leaving the house!
