OK, so not technically her first, as she is a November birthday but last year passed by in a blur so am counting this as her first!! Have 4yo DS and have never had an problem with presents for him, but what on earth do girls like???? At the moment she just plays with DS's things, but it would be nice for her to have some bits of her own, any guidance much appreciated Smile

If you don't know what she wants (though it may become more apparent closer to Christmas) then I wouldn't get her much. In my experience she'll get loads of gifts from family and friends and buying something for the sake of it is just a waste of money - she's too young to know what came from who. I would save the money for later in the year when she may suddenly express an interest in something which you can then justify buying.

So she'll be about 13 months? What about a ride on toy, or a little soft-bodied dolly? I think boys and girls toys for that age group are pretty much the same, just in different colours! If she is walking by Christmas she may like a toy to push.

A little dolly, my dd2 loves loves loves dd1's dolly! It cost us a fiver from Asda last year & it cries and laughs.

DD2 sits chewing her feet, much to dd1's disgust! So we're going to get her one of her own, probably be one of the few bits we get her tbh

Children of this age are not really bothered if a boy toy or girl and most are universal.

a doll in a little buggy is a good present and encourages walking, early learning do a cheap pushchair under ten pound.
Play food and teaset also a favourite

Thanks, sorry, had unexptected visitors hence not coming back on before now!! Some good ideas, was thinking along the same lines, and am also considering maybe just putting some cash aside in her bank for later in the year, ie garden presents.

Stuff she can play with in the garden later in the year is a good idea, we did that with dd1 last year & she's got all sorts in the garden to keep her occupied
