oh i dont know....

it was going to be a bike but got one early.

maybe some music listening type thing - he's gone through cd players, an ipod and is now listening to his music at night on my laptop... which is a pain for me... but he loves his own playlist on spotify..

had also wondered about starting him on keyboard lessons and so a keyboard would be good... but think that's on the back burner...

he would love his own camera, but dh is a camera snob and we haven't been able to agree on a suitable one..

So! will watch with interest....

Nothing. Father Christmas is apparently getting him a skateboard and a drum kit. What ds needs to learn is that mummy won't allow a drum kit in the house. Grin

Nope, I have a hyperfocusing ds who has ASD and ADHD but also has an obsession with paper

mememe30 · 30/09/2010 22:10

We're getting our nearly 7 year old lots of lego and scalextrics (I expect I've spelt it wrong)

PinkyDink · 30/09/2010 22:34

Lego, Lego & more Lego!!
That's all he seems to want, and actually that is what he mainly plays with.
Some games too, Lego (again!!) Hogwarts & Minotaurus, Chess set, a Puffle (from club penguin) and some Ben 10 figures.

SacharissaCripslock · 01/10/2010 00:21

My DS1 is 6 just before Christmas and is getting loads of craft stuff - he happily spends HOURS a day drawing/making stuff - I'm so excited about this present as I've spend ages gathering together every arty and crafty thing I could think of.Grin

Also got him Playmobil, lego, games for nintendo DS (the nintendo is mine but I let him play it), moonsand, kids games like Hungry Hippos, a metal detector, lego cd player, some Ben 10 stuff, and some dressing up stuff.

Lindax · 01/10/2010 18:15

probably a bike - still thinking about it

lego city firestation
lego city street corner
meccano remote controlled car
harry potter lego game
small star wars lego
bop-it
(got 3 for 2 in argos last week - cant resist a bargain, lego might be from my mum instead)

Beast quest & Mr Gum books (bogof now in Tesco)

Schleich dinosaur models (new gigantosaurus out this year)

Nike chrome football & maybe new football kit which he needs anyway.

Surprisingly he hasnt asked for any Wii or DS games this year at all.

TheLifeOfRiley · 03/10/2010 17:51

My DS wants more toy story stuff, more thomas stuff, and more wall-e stuff . Grin

Have found this thread quite interesting as it highlights how 'young' my DS compared to his peers (has asd).

oooggs · 03/10/2010 19:07

lego (probably star wars)
lego cd player
chess board
books

tulpe · 03/10/2010 20:43

Journal & pen
Lego mini figures
Hand transfers (in Cox & Cox)
Hat & gloves
Old fashioned sweeties in jars
Super Mario Galaxy for Wii

wonka · 04/10/2010 16:29

Pogo stick and a metal detecetor (neither of which our lawn will thank us for) and Lego

jamaisjedors · 04/10/2010 16:34

Lifeofriley: "it highlights how 'young' my DS compared to his peers (has asd)."

I don't know, DS is just 6 and has none of this stuff (apart from a chess board and arty stuff), even the little lego is too fiddly for him.

I didn't realize 6 year olds were into Harry Potter, but we are in France and probably out of the loop, it wouldn't occur to me to read him that, so maybe he is way behind his English peers?

tulpe · 04/10/2010 21:40

Jamais- my 6 year old hasn't read HP. I also have a 10 year old and he has read bits to his younger brother. I think it is more that the 6 year old is attracted to it because big brother is :). They also play at HP a lot so he is always running around with a wand in hand or re-enacting (sp??) quidditch matches in the kitchen!

iheartdusty · 04/10/2010 21:51

have just today bought the Playmobil Egyptian pyramid.

DS would love to get into Lego but I can't find a 'theme' that he'd like.

He hasn't seen Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Harry Potter films and would be scared by the films themselves. He doesn't play heroes or fighting or castles or monsters. He couldn't care less about cars, planes or any other kind of transport. With his friends he plays spies and secret agents, Romans playmobil, or they read the Beano and tell incessant bum/poo/willy jokes. He loves craft, space, science kits, and small stuffed toys. He wants to be a scientist and an explorer.

I just can't find a 'place' for him in the Lego world order.

jamaisjedors · 05/10/2010 07:49

I see what you mean Tulpe.

It's true that both DS (6 & 3) are mad into Pokemon cards since playing with their older cousin, despite the fact that neither of them can read what's written on the cards.
