Chocolate coins, satsuma, a puzzle, notebook and pen and a Christmas decoration (last year it was a bauble that you could decorate yourself).

LastOrdersAgain · 29/09/2010 16:33

There has to be a Terrys Chocolate Orange in there!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/09/2010 16:33

Choc Coins.
Couple of quid in a new wallet.
A Christmas cracker.
Socks
Bubble bath.
Dinosaur torch thingy that Ive seen in some toy shop.
Matchbox ice cream van.
Bouncy ball. (will probably regret that one)
Any other tat that I find whilst Christmas shopping.

tassisssss · 29/09/2010 17:10

I have a beanie Boots and Swiper and I was planning to put one in the top of each of my girls stockings but thinking about it I should probably give both to dd1 and something else to dd2 as we'll only have serious sharing issues... I do like a nice cuddly toy or similar poking out of the top!

Also bought duplo figures on ebay with real doll-like hair. They look kind of evil but I'm hoping will relaunch the duplo collection (bought duplo dora and boots from ebay last year).

That's it so far but will include as much stuff they need already like toothbrushes, undies etc as I can get away with and some Hawkins type tatt.

depends who for,
for the children they always have
one of those flannels that expands in water
a mini bubble bath thing (shaped like mr men this year)
new toothbrush
a toy car ( matchbox size)
some chocolate coins
crayons and mini colouring book
a couple of little things from hawkins bazaar
and a soft toy on top.

for DH
he always gets one of those books of stuff you never needed to know
some face cream
a bazaar food stuff Chilli jam or lime and chilli chocolate
bag of nuts
other little bits of tat.

Thankfully last year DH called in reinforcements and instead of another mini screwdriver set and stuff bought from B&Q my sister helped him choose some fabulous little things Grin

MrsBadger · 29/09/2010 17:43

ds(11m) bath toys
dd(3.5) Muffin character washmitt puppet, tell-the-time clock, dvd, activity sticker book
dh(ahem) cds, books, foodie treats, luxury bath stuff, socks etc

twolittledarlings · 29/09/2010 17:53

I tend to put things in that are small.

So it will be so far in each dd7 and dd9:
socks
chocolate balls
automatic spaghetti fork
bracelet
necklace
lipbalms
nail varnish set
satsuma
zhu zhu pet hamster each ( have bought nearly the complete set for them but may pop a hamster/outfit in for starters and the rest wrapped up in main santa bag
bath fizzes
small box of ferror rocher ( they asked for this)
Hannah Montana purse and lipgloss set
mini lego figures
Apple ipod leather covers
DS hard case and storage case
extra stylus for ds

and anything else that I buy that we be small

Last year, I added an automatic pencil sharperner which was an excellent buy as they used it all the time.

Last yr DS (now 5) loved his glider plane thingie that cost 50p

You know the ones you slot together then chuck around, basically a glorified paper aeroplane Grin

Think ELC do pink/blue ones....

SacharissaCripslock · 29/09/2010 22:23

Disposable camera. Then they can take pics of the day - should be fun seeing what terrible pics they've taken. Grin

PinkyDink · 29/09/2010 22:30

For DD
choc coins
bracelet
polly pocket in car
lip balm
socks
My little pony (pocket size)
dressing up shoes
playmobil
book
tube of sweets
colouring pens
Hama beads peg boards

For DS
choc coins
hot wheels cars
Lego mini figures
mr men boo
socks
small Lego set
tube of sweets

I pick bits up throughout the year & then finish off with bits when sainsburys do there 1/2 price sale (usually the lego sets & playmobil)

kimbles1984 · 30/09/2010 09:47

in my 8 year olds stocking i am putting in things like:

torch
gloves
sweets
army men
alien eggs
socks
christmas music box
calculator
gel pens
1 month club penguin membership card from argos

bluecardi · 30/09/2010 09:54

To add to the choc coins & other bits how about

  • some printed out colouring ins or dot to dots,
  • cut out pics from mags & make a collage set with a stick of glue & paper to stick things on
  • if you buy childrens magazines take off the free gifts & store these for the stockings.

grumpypants · 01/10/2010 18:23

I am buying ready made ones from Hawkins Bazaar agaian, having bankrupted myself in recent years putting 'cheap' things in, and then having no money left for 'real' presents.

DurhamDurham · 01/10/2010 18:31

Perfume
Hotel Chocolate caramel buttons
cd's
dvd's
bed socks
body spray
gel pens
assorted sweets such as flumps, sherbert (cos I'm such a bad parent!) which they will consume before breakfast
New Look gift card
nail varnish

These are for two girls aged 13 and 17....just incase anyone thought I was getting very inappropriate gifts for a toddler!! We still love doing all the old family traditions....we still leave sherry and mince pies out for Santa. I think the girls sre humouring me.

Checkmate · 01/10/2010 18:52

A couple of books from charity shops go in my DC's stockings, (I found some today actually, 3 Beastquests/Rainbow magics for £1, and look virtually as good as new) along with essentials that I'd buy anyway (knickers/pants etc..) and some pretty hair accessories for DD's which I've found to be cheapest at H&M.

Love the idea of disposable cameras!

UniS · 01/10/2010 19:45

So far- I only just started picking bits up,

Dinosaur sandwich cuter.
Pencil case with pencils in ( he goes to school in Jan and is desperate for a pencil case)
Finger skate board.

Will also be a book , socks, novelty soap, novelty toothbrush & sweets. Oh, and a tangerine wrapped in foil.

he only has a modest size sock, so its not too expensive a game to play.
