A hamper? Lol

what about gift bags for the soap and glory stuff

Tippychoocks · 28/09/2010 14:38

Are they in boxes already? Am going to assume they are loose.

The soapy stuff could go in a cheap spongebag if you can get one in the right colours. Or any shallow basket (charity shop, pound land), cellophane over the top and ribbon.

Ditto for the tea stuff - the baskets are in supermarkets, pound shops etc - but it would be nice to get something to kind of pull it all together. How about a cheap cake stand or a second-hand teapot? Would the bits fit in?

I keep shoeboxes and cover them in nice wrapping paper to store ribbons and sewing stuff: they would make a nice way to give loose items. Shredded paper, straw or scrunched tissue paper to give them something to lie on, ribbon round the closed lid and bob's yer festive relation Smile

lol ladies, thanks for replies, i saw a lovely bread bin in debenhams today, but it was £20, would have been lovely to store food bits in :-(

wrap a box in this for soap & glory items

You could wrap food items on a tray cover with cello .

Ask a florist to add cellophane and bows or buY it from a florist wholesale get plain and it will last all year !

You could also wrap a box in that lovely paper using double sided tape or glue. Then wrap each item in a vintage magazine page. Loads on ebay. Especially the old comestic ones.

You could use a red bucket for the food a festive tin one again or lakeland. Tie on a candy cane and wrap with white and red ribbon.

I bought some shallow baskets from a shop called 'What'. I think they were £1 each and are perfect for hamper-type gifts. You can get different coloured raffia on ebay to pad it out a bit.
