Hi

DH and I were just talking about new years eve and christmas etc..and we were complaining that it is sooo hard for people in our situation (toddler and baby) to do anything for new years eve so I've decided to try host a baby/child friendly new years eve party Grin

I'm thinking of inviting everyone to come around about 4pm and there would be no expectation to stay till midnight, so people who need to put the kids to bed can skip off about 8/9pm or whenever suits, but will still have been out IFKWIM..

So, I'm excitedly thinking about food etc. Let me pick your brains for all thoughts and suggestions Smile

Make sure you have some activities lined up for the kids!

& some 'wine' for them . . . my 4yo dd gets a bottle of wine for Christmas & her birthday. It's only that Schloer (sp?) stuff but it makes her feel like she's included when we're having a drink

When ours where that age we just did a dinner for adults, with kids being put to bed upstairs between starter and main, then scooped up sleeping and taken home. We did this for a few years, rotating between each others houses. Then they got too big and stopped going to bed so we gave up!

We now have a new years day brunch, which suits us and our friends - we celebrate the new year, just at a better time.
