Hang on a hollypicking minute.

There needs to be a safe haven thread for those who don't want to be sprinkling and shimmering semolina on spuds.

Post your shortcuts here.

Convenience Rocks.

Semolina?

I have already bought cornflour! From Waitrose Shock What's the difference?

Grin at hollypicking minute.

Shortcuts...

I'm buying carrot batons.

And re-gifting a construction set my DS got in May to my nephew.

Are men allowed on here?

Can I recommend some ready sliced turkey with added sage & onion flavour?

Find it on offer in the chiller section.

Bootiful.

Order buffet from M&S. Stock up on alcohol. Sit back and enjoy!

(Has been my Christmas routine for the last three years now and have finally started enjoying the fricking day!)

There must be a happy balance between convenience and poncetastic.

Gift vouchers for adults - especially dads and siblings. Added bonus of not having to wrap, and you can buy them online in a lot of shops. DIY if they've just moved house, favourite clothes stores if they don't have a lot of money to spend on themselves.

OHs and Mums would probably prefer something with a bit of thought and kids need something to unwrap, but anyone else would probably really like a voucher. And if you're worried about having to expose the limits of what you can afford, then they're not someone you should be buying for anyway.......

Gift bags and boxes with tissue paper - much easier than wrapping paper and if you're very careful you can reuse them [thrifty granny type emoticon]
