what to buy my 16mo DD for Christmas?

I haven't got a clue - i struggled enough with her birthday! (we eventually got her a Wheely Bug)

For DS (5yo), it's the opposite, where i've got loads of ideas and could buy enough to go round several children but really need some suggestions for DD.

(She already has the standard wooden brick trolley and a small dolls pram, both gifts from well-meaning grandparents, neither of which really gets played with)

Please help!

Hi parentallyinept. My DD will be 15mo at christmas (b'day next week for which we've bought her a wooden brick trolley!) and I've started making a note of things to buy her.

It's not an extensive list so far, but I've got:

For her stocking:

Hairslide
New socks/ tights
Balloon (idea from a thread on here)
Tree decoration (already bought in sales last year)
Satsuma

Main present:
Dressing gown
New sleeping bag

Not a very extensive list so far.... I plan to think ahead to the sorts of things she'll need/ enjoy when she's 18 months and use Christmas as an opportunity to stock up. She'll definitely start needing shoes soon, for example.

She's not really going to be that fussed, let's face it, so I might as well just wrap up some clothes or other items that I was going to buy anyway......

DD2 will be 18 months at Christmas and she will receive some of DD1's outgrown toys (DD1 will be 6). Father Christmas has chosen something that hasn't previously belonged to DD1 as we don't want her to get suspicious. FC will fill DD2's stocking with the ELC Happyland camping set (having first taken the items out of the packaging and wrapped them). FC will also give her toothpaste and a new toothbrush.

DD1 has always had some of her existing toys wrapped up and put under the tree and has loved trying to guess what we've wrapped up. She will choose a preloved toy to wrap for DD2 from her. Why not do that? At 16 months she won't know - the dolls pram will be a great thing to unwrap!

Have decided to add a musical instrument set to the list. Saw a friend's last week that had a little recorder/xylophone/tambourine, all stored within a drum. Might regret it on Boxing Day......
