Stocking question

I will have a 3 yr dd and a 5 month ds at xmas and know th 3 yr old will want to know what Father Christmas has brought for the 5 month old, obviously I don't really want to go mad as the 3 yr old got lots her first xmas. Do you think I can recycle her presents that she hasn't seen for a while as put away (baby presents) and wrap for ds?

I thought your title said shocking question and I couldn't see what the shock was Grin. I think recycling gifts is a great idea but if your DD knows they used to be hers you will have some explaining to do.Wink

A five month old will be happy with a couple of books to chew and a rainmaker from ELC.

i think you'd be mad if you didnt tbh!

No. She will remember and you'll have tantrums.
Buy cheap things for DS and split them up. So buy a net of bath toys and you have half a dozen gifts Grin. Neither of them will understand the value and it'll look like loads.

You could tell DD that FC doesn't bring much for babies and could she give her old toys to DS? They're never too young to enjoy the giving bit of Christmas too I think. She might get really into the idea.

yes defintely!

ds2 was 6 weeks old on his first christmas and i think we did a stocking with a pack of flannels, some vests, some old toys, a board book and other bits and bobs, it was fine

Doodleydoo · 13/09/2010 20:12

We went completely overboard with pfb, am sure if not the "popular" toys from 2 years ago then we might get away with it, otherwise might come up with some kind of tosh to tell her. Glad that I don't need to go mad though as otherwise our house will be overun.........

our babies had stockings full of useful things - bibs, socks, spoons, pots, maybe a new board book, bath mit that kind of thing.

wooden letters spelling his name for his door if you don't already have?

Was going to say what cat64 said.

Brilliant, I just wanted other mummy justification as I know he will be spoiled rotten by others! Besides might slip in a few boy clothes too as he has nothing yet....I thought we were having another girl!
