If you have a Smyths near you, they have the Applewood Department Store reduced to £49.99 from £75.
There is a car on Play reduced to to £13.99 from £19.99.
Argos are good for getting extras with any sets you buy and if you keep an eye out it may get 25% off at some point before christmas, but you would have to be quick at reserving.

boots have some on 3 for 2

Tippychoocks · 29/08/2010 18:01

SAinsburys had them in their half price toy sale last year but they sold out in seconds.

OhCobblers · 29/08/2010 20:18

thanks Tippychoocks, was just looking at the Sainburys website and for anyone who's interested there are a number of Sylvanian items reduced!

i wouldnt buy them for a 19 month old to be fair. i bought a load last christmas for my girls who at the time were nearly 4 and nearly 5, i had to put them away a couple of months ago because they were destroying them, and there were loads (and i mean loads) of tiny little bits that could be choked on. they wont get them back until they are about 6 or 7.

Way too young and yes it is pricey even second hand. The clothes, room sets and figures are not that robust and accessories and stickers tiny. There is plenty of time to collect them when she is old enough to appreciate it (dd just got some more for her 9th bday). Better getting more basic figures and buildings like Fisher Price or Happyland which can withstand more punishment from a toddler.

OhCobblers · 30/08/2010 13:12

thanks ladies - i was looking at them in sainsburys earlier and did think the same.

also saw happy land in elc earlier in the week and agree that looks like it can stand more punishment! so will probably veer in that direction for now.

thanks again.

You can get loads of happyland stuff on ebay, we got dd lots last year and saved ££££.

nelliesmum · 08/09/2010 22:55

Don't go Sylvanian for any kid under 6yrs, now Happyland, brilliant.

jenk1 · 09/09/2010 15:32

just bought the lakeside lodge from the entertainer toy shop for £29.99 instead of £59.99 got a free little notepad and pen set to go with it as well, great for a starter set

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 09/09/2010 18:17

Check out Boots for happyland too - they usually have some as part of their 3 for 2 on toys. DS (2yrs) loves it.
