Toilet twinning as wedding gift?

Space Toilet GIF

I know a couple of cool 20 year olds getting married this year. They’re very wholesome, conservative Christians. I want to get them a memorable gift - they will move in together after the wedding, and their house is prepped with items already.

I was thinking of buying them a ‘toilet twinning’ certificate. Twinning their toilet to one in a 3rd world country. I know the church they attend has these (cost about £60-£80)

its whimsical and a bit silly - but is it bad taste idea? They are both very charitable and generous people and equally fun and lovely people.

if this is stupid - then any other ideas for this hip, but conservative young couple?

p.s I posted in another area of Mumsnet not realising this Christian specific area exists

I love the toilet twinning scheme and think it's a great gift. However if they're only 20 and just setting up home together I wonder if they might have things they need? If not then go for it. I had it as a birthday present once.

Certainly not bad taste! I think it's a great idea.

We have the toilets at church twinned too, I think it's a great idea. I also like Cafod world gifts. For gifts that help others, they have loads of different ones so they can fit different occasions.

I'd agree with this. For such a young couple, I'd get them something for their home that they actually need.
