Making the connection between head and heart

Specifically in relation to biblical truths.

Am struggling a lot right now with how I find my identity in my work/achievements. I could write essays on how this isn’t biblical,
how I’m loved whatever etc etc but I just can’t get my heart to believe it and it therefore to make a difference to my day to day life/workload etc.

Any ideas?

I have spoken about this before on another thread but I love the bit in Matt 28 that says they worshipped but some doubted. I think if we can keep worshipping what we know of God even if we have doubts, our doubts will start to fade and faith will rise.

I would also say keep meditating on psalms or bits of the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to make it real to you.

I used to put my identity in my achievements etc aswell. Even though I knew what the bible said it was difficult to grasp until I got to the root. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the root of what that is. Often the root or even wound blocks the truth from penetrating our heart. Once you know where it came from stand on 2 Corinthians 10:5 asking God to uproot it and let his word enter in. Another thing is sometimes our own introduction to God. How do you see God and what is your understanding of the gospel? Sometimes there might be a barrier there that can be unravelled and a close friend or someone who has been in the faith for a while can walk you through discipleship if necessary. Sending lots of love xx

Are there any actions or practices that would help you?

Are there specific ways that your work impacts negatively on you and your faith-? E.g. use of time?

For example, if you know in yourself that you don't take your full entitled lunch break, then you could start to be more deliberate about this by setting an alarm, refusing to resume your work until the alloted time and using the additional time to read your bible or pray. Sometimes putting our money where our mouth is can be an act of faith that transforms the heart
