Hi guys
I just wanted to say hello and also goodbye to all you other Christian mumsnetters. I am extremely upset about the posts on this board at the moment and am going to leave because of the impact it is having on my mental health (I am not snowflaking, I have PTSD and and am triggered by aggressive situations). It is such a shame because I really think that it is important to have a place where different bits of the church can chat and support each other but unfortunately, this board is just awful.

I wish you all the best and will pop back in a year or so to see if it has been sorted out.

I hope those stronger than me can fight to get this fixed and I will pray for you all.

Imo, mn are good at stepping in and dealing with this, especially if a post is reported.
On mn, if I don't like the way a thread is going, I leave the thread, not the board, which seems a bit drastic.

@Sausagenbacon it was multiple threads over a couple of weeks and it was pretty unpredictable which ones would go nasty.

Do some of you go on fb groups at all? Do zoom Bible studies? I gathered massive online crowd with friends just by signing for various studies and so we talk there on all things without the need an outsider hating Christ to come and argue their nonsense

@TheHazelSeal Christians don't believe in karma and even if we did, I don't think that it applies across whole groups of people. Otherwise you could equally say that any terrible act performed by a small subset of a group of people should be revisited on the whole group which makes no sense.

If you are genuinely interested in finding out how Christians think about the bible, please start your own post asking about it. You will find that different denominations have different views on the bible and that it is fine for different Christians to have different opinions on things and yet we can still share a faith and family of Christ with each other.

that last post just reminded me I am signing up for one more study, very serious, book by book but they want me to read their very reformed views and agree with them - I don't mind because I can do all churches all on 1 go. I am Orthodox and can go to any church, we never had the Reformation , just the initial massive separation of the church, so I don't see the world of christians as Catholic or protestants but also Catholics have full communion with Orthodox , so all good

Before I leave today, look at it this way: mumsnet is a good place for women but not good at all for women who believe in God, promote pro-life and marital faithfulness also. Leave alone promoting the traditional moral values. Have another website for seeking fellowship all up your sleeves, just in case.

After the unwelcome intrusions on this board for Christian Mumsnetters, out of curiosity I popped across to another ‘religious’ board only to find a thread where they are chatting about the same challenge: ie pot-shotters intruding on meetings with their know-it-all, but understanding nothing comments, which are not at all appropriate to the board.

I have realised that Christianophobia is rife, alive and thriving … just for the now.

It seems then that we are not alone in being denied a safe space to enjoy our church meetings. I am not certain if I took comfort from that fact, or not. 🤷

Hi bunny , so sorry you feel this way , I was in in your shoes recently in the Christian board , and was left very distressed
I failed to read that it was NOT the place for theological discussion and inadvertently offended with my opinions on jesus, and absolutely got roasted in hell fire. It totally triggered all my self loathing and anxiety as it is achully is one of my greatest fears is upsetting or displeasing people .
I was very shocked and upset as my experience of Christians is always as a positive loving supportive bunch and I experienced a darker side of fundamentalism
even my sincere apologies were shot down in flames and it left me in tears for days and not sleeping , you are not alone xx

I hope you can feel this ((( hug))) and please be reminded there are far more kind and loving if people who wish you well . The angry people need our prayers as they are not happy

I have just discovered these boards and saddened you are leaving. I am a pagan who works with Mary Magdalene and Lilith and have written books on them both. I have Jewish ancestry and as eclectic as they come. I have great respect for catholics jews and Christians and am disappointed in the comments I have seen on some boards. Shakes my head.

I've had a lot of this from the same poster. It's funny really, they wrote a whole post about how they've always been respectful on these threads!
