Prayer Request Thread

MargaretThursday · 14/12/2024 11:17

I thought it would be nice if we could have a thread where people can put prayer requests for us to pray for.

Obviously if it's urgent or going to have lots of discussion then do start your own thread; this isn't meant to stop this.
But this is for those smaller things that you would like prayer for, that don't feel significant enough to start a thread about.

so glad to hear this @UnbeatenMum xx
Thank you, Lord 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Thegreatestoftheseislove · 15/09/2025 01:32

Giving grateful thanks to God in the mighty name of Jesus for answered prayer - all in His timing, rather than my own. I cannot say a lot more because it could be outing. One took a few years and another 7 months, but both things now answered 🙏

I am so pleased for you.
I am starting to give up hope that mine will ever be.

(((hug))) all in His timing - and the answer sometimes isn't immediately noticed because it may come in a different format to that which we asked? I take comfort too from the knowledge it is all in His hands. He is Sovereign. Hope that makes sense.

Please could you pray for my friend who has been in intensive care for months, and doesn’t seem to be getting any better. The doctors seem to have reached the point where they don’t know what else to try. We just want her well enough to come home for Christmas. Thank you.

Hi FeatheryFlorence, I am sorry to hear what happened to your friend. The will of God over someones life is the most important thing. If it is to be will of God and your friend'se path that they willl improve from this state-prayers should help them if they are a believer.

I wanted to say I know intensive care units restrict people who can visit, but has your friend perhaps been visited by a church minister in the hospital and been anointed with Holy Oils. In (James 5-14-15) it is written that those who are sick that an elder should visit them and anoint them with Holy Oils. I will say a prayer for your friend. There is an article on premierchristian website about a man who was in intensive care and had a big prayer ring and he came out.to help may be keep your circle motivated. www.premierchristianity.com/real-life/god-rescued-my-son-from-a-coma-and-healed-him-of-brain-injuries/16114.article

I am praying for your friend, Featheryflorence, praying that she improves, and gets home for Christmas. And praying for all the doctors treating her, and for you and her friends that you find comfort in the love of God.

Please pray for my brother. His body is ravaged by disease to every major organ. His sugar is dangerously low and a few months back he was diagnosed with heart failure. He is in hospital now and unresponsive. He is also in one of the most under resourced countries in the world. Many times we have come close to losing him but God has intervened. Please pray that God heals him completely. We need yet another miracle

My husband and I argued before church so we didn't go (my decision) because I was too angry and didn't want to bring that to God's house.

Husband is not a believer and, after picking a fight with me, ignored me until it was time to go only to find out I wasn't going.

I refuse to allow him to talk to me in a certain way and this causes tension and arguments.

But, I feel guilty that I'm leading us spiritually, until God saves DH according to his will, and let anger and hurt prevent us from going to church today.

I'm not a good example of God's light today 🙏

We are also new to this church so I have no one to turn to on Earth.

I don't know how to navigate my own feelings and the implications of not going to church etc

Can you pray for and with me.

God bless you all.

Thegreatestoftheseislove · 07/06/2026 15:06

God bless you @MercyNeeded I think all of us are guilty at some point of not being a good example of God's light. As the Lord's Prayer says: "forgive us our sins ..."

You are forgiven as He already knows your heart about missing church and allowing yourself to express your frustration, so do not feel bad or guilty (((hug))).

We are told to forgive and forgive and forgive; turn the other cheek, etc. This does NOT mean we accept the unacceptable and it is quite right that you have your boundaries and are clear about them. Pray that the LORD gives you patience, calm, peace, strength to continue to be the light in your marriage, and that the 'eyes' of your husband's 'heart' are opened to the perfect Love and Truth of Jesus.

🙏

@Thegreatestoftheseislove Thank you so much for your kind words. Things have blown over now and we have planned our return to church. We read the Orthodox Way last night, together. He's apologised and I've accepted it and we've moved on. Thank you for your prayers. God bless you.

Have been reading the updates and will be praying for you all. Could you please continue to pray that my daughter stays cancer free? She’s got a check up next week that I’m nervous about. We’ve been fighting her disease for many years with lots of relapses and me and my family really need some peace . I want to feel close to God again as I’ve been feeling angry and scared for so many years.

Waiting for check ups and results is horrible. You are human and are bound to have anxiety around all that. Feeling angry and scared are emotions that are understandable. Even though we cannot help how we feel, we can choose how to act on those feelings, and the old hymn comes to mind:

"One day at a time sweet Jesus, that's all I'm asking from you.
Just give me the strength to do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way - One day at a time"

Listen to and/or read God's Word, daily, and let your anxieties frame your prayers. God knows your heart, but speak to Him and keep the relationship real.

May the LORD answer your prayers according to His Sovereign and Perfect Will. 🙏

I had forgotten that I had posted on this thread, about my friend who had been in ICU for months and months. She did indeed come home for Christmas and is now back at work, getting stronger every day. Thank you!
