DS1 has long hair similar to this but hes 5

hes got nits, alot of eggs

DH is saying shave it, but I don't like it when he has a shaved head, he looks like a little thug when hes really an angel - and looks like one with long hair

Why on earth would you shave his head? I don't think it would get rid of the nits anyway would it? Unless you mean shave it with a razor, completely bald?

Just treat it, either with chemicals or a nitty gritty.

Why would you shave it just because he's a boy? I doubt you'd shave the head of your daughter.

Just treat the headlice - lots and lots of conditioner, nit comb and endless patience. Tea tree oil helps too. If the little buggers continue hanging around, I've heard that a combination of olive oil, vinegar and mayonnaise works well - apply to head and leave under cling film.

I just thought it would helkp get rid of them, his head gets so sweaty sometimes.

I would shave it - especially as its coming up to holidays and it can grow back for September.

We actually did shave DD2's hair when she was about 2yrs old.... grade 8 all over. She was infestated with them, we tried all sorts but she kept getting them. She also has thick curly hair and so combing was upsetting her.

We shaved it, treated it, and touch wood - she has never had them again.

she is now 4yrs old and her hair is half way down her back!
