DD1 is now 15 days old. Overnight she was very unsettled, wouldnt sleep for more than an hour at a time, yet no need for a nappy change and wouldnt take a feed. Yesterday she was fine with feeding and today she is again refusing to take her bottle, along with being unsettled again.

Is this normal, or am I being and over worried 1st timer

are you winding her really well? my DD was really windy and until I realised that I needed to keep her upright and pat her back quite vigorously for quite a while after a feed she would get like this.

Ladylou83 · 01/07/2010 13:59

I do try to wind her after every 30ml of milk, if we let her take more without winding she vomits it back up. I am wondering if its wind though, as I can hear her tummy making gurgle like noises. today though I cant manage to get any wind up, and were being quite vigarous too. Is it worth me trying her with infacol?

It does sound like she's a windy girl, I'm afraid I don't have any experience with infacol, and my DD was breast fed, so I don't know if being bottle fed changes anything.

I do know friends who used infacol and described it as getting lots of tiny burps together into one big one which was easier to get up.

Thanks Robynlou, just having a second opinion on it possibly being trapped wind is a real help Will give her a drop of infacol at her next feed and see how she does.

Think RLou is right and it could be wind related.... perhaps going towards colic....

I did use infacol with my YS who was an non-sleeping colicky windy nightmare when he was a little bit older than your little baby girl.

It can help some babies (we had to use a right combination of stuff with my YS who could projectile vomit his feeds up and win an Olypmic medal for distance).

I'd say it is worth a go.

She might be a little bit under the weather but if she can bring up her milk and her tummy is noisy then it could be a wind connection.

I am more fearsome of Colic, than I was of giving birth!!! Eeeeek!

Will defo be giving it a try. She is starting to stir now, wish me luck!

Ahhhh a big burp.... music to your ears

Pancakeflipper · 01/07/2010 16:10

Forgot to say that with Infacol the more it is used the better the results....So do use it as it says and don't feel you shouldn't use it for each feed...

brilliant, here's to a more settled night for you both
