Will the GP give extra days of ABs? concern re possible scarlet fever and toddler spitting out meds

DS2 is 3yo, and he absolutely refuses to be cooperative and take medication. He is currently on antibiotics (amoxicillin) and we are having a massive battle 3x per day to get it into him. We've used two doses (due to him spitting it out) by the time we've actually got a full dose in him. I am absolutely going spare about this. He's going to run out of the meds before the course is up. So I'm wondering if we will be able to get more, as he will probably run out before we get halfway through the course of ABs.

Also, I'm a little concerned about what he might have. He started with a sore throat, high fever, and white tongue. Now his tongue is red, throat still sore, and fine pink/reddish rash all over chest, belly, back, groin, arms that showed up the day after the fever. He's also been off his food since the fever started. His cheeks are red, but they always are when he is tired or ill, so that's not a huge indicator for him. I was concerned about the possibility of scarlet fever. He saw the nurse practitioner yesterday, who said he had a throat infection and prescribed antibiotics. He was just barely starting the rash at that point (just had a small amount around his collarbone area) and she stated it was most likely heat rash. Since he's on the antibiotics (although reading here it sounds like 10 days is the preferred course, this appears to be just a 5 day course), do I even need to worry about going back to the GP?

And any suggestions on how to get the stupid meds in him would be appreciated, as I am really tired of fighting him every time. I actually had to scoop the meds he spit out back into his mouth to fight him to keep it in and swallow it today. I'm tempted to mix it with something, but he's such a picky eater god knows if he'd drink it.

My dd1 had scarlet fever and the defining symptom is 'strawberry tongue'. I had never heard of it until she came up to me saying 'mummy, my tongue looks like a strawberry' which it did, exactly. So, googel images and off to the GP who took a swab & confirmed it. She wouldn't take the abx, no matter what I mixed them with (have you tasted them!?!) and got better regardless (I know there is a theoretical risk of heart problems but actually scarlet fever isn't as scary as it sounds& the second GP we say was not concerned. Calpol & neorofen and plenty of sleep and fluids). Kids get rashes for all sorts or reasons, usually viral and usually of no real significance. Good luck.

Yes, his tongue was bright red and did look like a strawberry - much like the pictures - yesterday. Today it's less bright red, and his fever is down a little bit. Rash still there. We managed to mix the meds in a small bit of orange juice and he drank it (with some coaxing), so at least we've gotten some in him now without practically sitting on him to do so. We'll just keep up the antibiotics that way, and the calpol for the fever. He's a bit iffy with foods still today, just picking at it, but hopefully as the throat feels better and the fever goes, he will be more inclined to eat again. Until then, lots of fluids. Thanks.

when ds had pneumonia and had to take antibiotics we had the same problem. added to that he was very poorly and did not have any appetite for a week. after 4 days (of seven) the bottle was empty. I called the GP who said that 4 days are usually enough, but abs should normally be taken for at least 5 days to make sure all bugs are dead. didnt get a new prescription.
you can get a "dosing syringe" at the chemists which really helps get the stuff in, followed by his favorite whatever (in our care a bit of grape juice) to get rid of the taste.
