My 8mth old has impetigo and has been given flucoxecillin antibiotic. We have tried many ways of getting it into him - spoon, syringe, in milk, in juice, but with no joy at all. It tastes absolutely foul, completely bitter, so I don't blame him really!
We got it on friday and I went back to the GP today for advice and was just told "you HAVE to get it in!" How????? He suggested mix it with sugar, the pharmacist suggested with juice. Thankfully the GP I saw today also gave me Fucidic (sp?) cream so hopefully that will do the trick.
He's breastfed and being baby-led weaned with one formula bottle at bed, so he's used to being in control of what goes in. He's only just started to swallow small amounts of water from a cup.
What have other people done? I need tricks of the trade, I've never had to give a baby meds before!
