Trigger Finger in 2 year old - hospital worries!

My little girl has trigger finger in her thumb (trigger thumb?). I've been told she's going to need an operation and I don't yet know if it's going to be an overnight stay or not. She's my PFB and to say I'm slightly worried is an understatement. I know nearer the time we will be told if it will be overnight or not, but I like to be prepared. Can anyone suggest a list of things to take? I feel more in control of a situation if I know what I have to do! Anyone else have any experience with this sort of thing? I know all will be explained when we go in but it doesn't stop me worrying for now. I know it's minor but I'm so stressy!

If your little one has had an op, how were they after with the anesthetic? Thanks for any suggestions.

My DD had an op to remove a lump on her side
it turned out to be nothing. I was in a complete state like you, but she wasn't in the least bothered. Had a great time new toys to play with, lovely nurses. She stayed overnight and I stayed with her.The worrying about it is ten times worse than when it happens. so try not to keep going over things in your head.

After the anesthetic she was alert very quickly. With relatively non invasive ops on small children they do not need to administer too much anaesthetic.

Things to take, nightclothes, wash things and towel, favourite toy.

As it is not urgent you could wait quite a while so it would be a shame to worry all that time. Try not to but I know it is easier said than done.

Thank you for your post, I've found it hugely reassuring. I'm such a worrier! Glad your DD is fine now.
