3 month old with ongoing diarrhoea

Hi guys, hoping one of you may have some fresh ideas for us.
DD is 15 weeks old, and has had diarrhoea for 15 day,
Sorry if I'm about to give TMI.
She was breast fed for 4 weeks, then mixed til 8 weeks and has been on the same formula all the time, and has never before had an issue with her formula.
She has around 6-8 dirty nappies daily (thank goodness for Asda's nappy offer), and it smells terrible. It is also very watery on occasion.
Spoke to a GP on day 2, who just said give extra water. Day 4 they put her on to 24 hours of just dioralyte, then 24 hours of half strengh feeds. Also took stool sample which was clear.
Day 7 checked her over, and agin at day 10 to make sure she wasn't dehydrated.
They have now left it, and said if in another week she's no better then they'll consider changing her to wysoy.
Has anybody else had anything similar? Seems strange that she's suddenly not ok with formula.
I've already put her jabs back a week because of this, and don't want to keep delaying them.
Any help greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for any replies. x

So the GP is thinking that she might be milk intolerant?
Please don't accept a prescription for wysoy - it is totally inappropriate for a child of this age. If the GP wants to try a CMP or lactose free formula then he needs to prescribe a hypoallergenic one like nutramigen or neocate or pepti.
Whilst a little unusual that she managed several weeks of being fine on this formula, it could well be that it has now sensitised her to it, and the CMP will have built up in her system over the weeks.

she could also have a temporary lactose intolerance due to the tummy bug - a lactose free formula could help e.g. SMA LF

He doesn't think she is milk intolerant, but says it's worth trying before they start having to do unpleasant tests, like colonoscopy etc. He said you usually get vomiting with intolerance.
We're just at a loss what to try, as we are fanatical about sterilising and keeping every clean.
Nobody else has been poorly.
I'm very careful when making bottles.
I just don't know if I can do anything else, to try and avoid medical intervention?
He's already said it would be wysoy, why isn't it suitable for her at this age?
Thanks. x

Some info about why not soya in here. In addition it can rot baby teeth terribly because it is so sweet.

My DS had a bout of reflux after a tummy bug when he was about 5.5 months.

I got nowhere with my GP until a lovely HV recommended infant Gaviscon (you can buy over the counter) this seamed to settle his stomach & all the explosive green poos, projevtile vomiting & screaming for hours all settled down within a day or two.

My friends with refluxy babies were all on nutrimegen or neocate. They also use gaviscon or domperinon & eventually got diagnosed with milk/lactose allergies.

You may find that like with my DS it is not a long term thing, just that her tummy needs settling.

Thanks for all the help here. GP gave us pepti jnr yesterday; after HV got involved and agreed that wysoy wasn't suitable. At the moment she's having none of it, but I'm perservering, and hopefully she'll get used to it.

We'll see what happens.

Thanks again.

Hope she takes to it and that it helps her tummy to settle soon.
