Help! She's just picked her chicken pox scabs!

DD (age nearly 3) is on day 5 of a chickenpox outbreak, doing well until last night she told me she'd 'got them out' - meaning the row of 10 deep scabs that had just formed on her forehead and round her eyes. Given that the skin is still healing there does anyone know of anything i can do to help these holes heal without leaving scars? At the moment she looks like she's going to have a very dented face...
All help much appreciated!

You'll need some good scar tissue cream. Only one I know of is Bio oil, but I know there are some other good ones on the market, you'll just have to look.

I think the deeper scabs leave a hole behind whether you pick them or not. Poor DD. My DD also has the pox, literally hundereds of spots. I would leave the area to heal, after time they become less noticeable, I'm sure the chemists propose all sorts of 'miracle' creams but not convinced any make any difference really. I had them as an adult and didn't pick and still got pockmarks but over time they're barely noticeable, children fare much better

DD1 had chickenpox when she was 3 months, lovingly brought home by her 4 year old brother! She scratched her nose and still has quite noticeable pits - she is now almost 12. I would say it's worth at least trying the bio oil or anything else the chemist might suggest.

Just read that paragraph back and it's not very encouraging, sorry - DD1 is extremely pretty (well I am biased!) and I think they add to her character and beautifulness. She doesn't have an issue with them at all, it's just like moles really, they are just there! She's at the age where she is very aware of her appearance and it's not caused any problems so far. I used to worry about them and even asked the gp about plastic surgery but he said to leave it until she was older as they would improve, and to be honest, they did in comparison from what they were.

I really wanted to come across positively but I'm not doing a good job here, sorry
