Omega 3 Supplements

I am thinking about giving these to DS aged 5. He doesn't eat much oily fish, and prob wouldn't get enough (if any) from his diet. He is a lovely 5 yr old, and like all other 5 yr olds has zero attention span (unless it's nintendo related). Just wondering if anyone else gives these supplements? If so, have you noticed any difference in your child? Just wondering if it will help with attention span and therefore help him at School?
Thanks

There was a noticeable difference when I started giving my ds flaxseeds, which are basically omega3 in their natural state. I put the seeds into a grinder (like peppercorns, needs to be adjustable though or they would fall through). You can also use them whole, sprinkled over foods.
For my ds it was a start of an amazing journey towards the improvement, the reason why we started though was b/c his skin seemed very very dry. It worked beautifully on the skin and the improvement in terms of concentration and attention was an amazing side benefit , the teachers have also noticed. He is now a teenager, we still use natural foods for all sorts and have met and been in touch with various nutrition experts. It's quite amazing what you can do at home, try it.
Omega3 are a must for the brain, whether from fish or plants. But b/c seeds are all-natural, you don't need to worry about overdose - and they also help the digestive system.

Thanks, will def try those. He has excema, although not too bad so maybe it will help that also. Thanks, hoping it will help his concentration so will def give it a go. Thanks.

Not all boys can synthesis flax seeds, some have a missing enzyme. So if you can I would try Omega tablets, eye Q for preference (there is another one which has the right balance of DHA and EPA but I can't remember what its called). See if that helps.
There is a book by Alex Richardson which explains why they work.

I would not pay any attention to Ben G - is he a scientist? No, he is just a journo.
Try proper science instead - eg here
