CRP Levels

My googling is getting me no where fast! I have just received my dd's discharge letter from a recent hospital stay, her CRP level was 274 at it's highest, I was told at one point it was 167 which they said was high! I'm just curious about what the CRP level is usually when there's an infection? Thanks.

Stands for ' C-reactive protein' it is a marker of inflammation. So rises in infection and inflammatory conditions.

Normal is between 0-4 in general although range vaires between hospital labs. 274 is very high and I would expect someone generally to have been sick at the time.

How high a CRP goes varies from person to person and the type of infection.

Thank you, my dd had ventriculitis at the time, I was just curious about how high 274 was as I wasn't told at the time. Thanks for replying.
