Hi I'm new to mumsnet & need some advice about my 6yr old daughter, she passed out twice at school this morning & was apparently shaking when on floor. She has no temp is saying her belly hurts at bottom. Have spoken to her doctor on the phone who said he will refer her to a paediatrian but doesn't seem keen on seeing her otherwise. I would like her to be seen by a doc today & was thinking of taking her to a&e (have doc appt for wed morning). Seems ok in herself now after having a long sleep but need advice on what I should do. Just want to add that she has never fainted before, thanks

Don't know what to suggest, but wanted to reply to you anyway.

I think the shaking can just be part of fainting, I do that sometimes when I faint, due to my very low blood pressure.

Sorry I can't be of more help, hope you get some more useful replies soon.

I would definately of taken her to A&E straight away, actually i would be quite cross at the school for not calling an ambulance if my 6 yr old daughter fainted twice! (can u tell i am a hypochondriac lol) no but seriously i would want her checked out asap.

hope she is okay x

Hi, thanks everyone for your kind advice. I took her to a walk-in centre to see a doctor, she (doctor) was very nice & was concerned. She has asked me to find out from her school exactly what happened because it is quite unusual for someone to pass out twice, also want to make sure it wasn't a fit. She suggested a rehydration drink in the meantime & to keep an eye on her. She's ok in herself & is eating ok (still complaining of feeling dizzy if she gets up from lying down), so who knows, hopefully it was just a one off. Interestingly she had her birthday party yesterday at a bowling alley which had loud music & lights, she was crying because she had a headache - not sure if this is linked. Going to let her doctor refer her to a paediatrician .

Migrain? I read something recently that children can experience migrain as a pain in their tummy. Also when I get a migraine I feel really hung over after it passes - shaky, faint, light-headed even once the pain is gone.

Or it could be something as simple as stadning in a line too long at school on a hot day- all the blood is down in your legs, and over you go - just like the Bearskins at the Changing of the Guard.

I'm a natural born fainter - had loads of different diagnosis - all wrong - some of us were just born to faint
