I am sure you will be referred to ENT to check it all out. My ds snored incredibly loudly and when they x-rayed his throat his adenoids were so swollen they were removed shortly after and snoring almost completely stopped.

The other, very simple thing, is could her nose be blocked full of snot? My ds just cannot blow his nose and nothing ever come sout so over time he has started to snore a but again because he is completely bunged up. we are now starting to spray saline up his nose to try and shift the gunk.

My son has snored loudly since he was a baby and we eventually took him to the doctor to get checked for sleep apnoea. He was seen at ENT and then had sleep studies in hospital and he was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea and had his tonsils and adenoids out 3 weeks ago. Now he is so quiet it's spooky! We knew he had huge tonsils but were told they only remove them if they are causing certain problems.

My dd2 had severe sleep apnoea (when they stop breathing, then gasp, as you describe) until her tonsils and adenoids were taken out, at 26 months. She's much, much better now - but still a snorer if on her back!
