hiya you may remember my thread form a few weeks back.

it's long but here it is

dd came out of hosp week and a half ago. nothing diagnosed, had the last flare up week ago monday.

then yesterday and today has had 3 bouts.

gp again,no help, said irritable hip, whichis transient synovotos, but the hops said they didn't thik it was.
talk about confused.

anywya we have a physio and an orthopedics aptt next tues. i am gald of that as hospital test show nothing and gp is rather fed up of us now.

just needed to come back and get supprt, cos school are a bit . At leat to, yesterday her teacher witnessed an attack, and was shocked by intensity.

Oh just another thought - she hasn't had a rash? My mum had a really bad period of hip pain following a bout of shingles. The rash was very shortlived but the pain went on for weeks and weeks.

hello.

no no rash at all.

We have two appt on wednesday at the hosp. Physio, followed by orthopedics outpatient follow up.

I have done a pain diary from the monet it all started, and I video'd her the other night having a 'flare uo' to show them.

it is worse at night when she lies down, and that's been when it happens 90% of the time.

Steps were the only other significant time that she had a flare up, when i took her back to school last tues.

Having reached this point, I think I would try persuading the Consultant at ortho outpatients to fast track your referral (as a priority) to a paediatric rheumatologist, get a name from them and contact them via their secretary, directly yourself as well, to push through the appointment/referral.

You have done everything you can in terms of collecting evidence of the attacks, and their severity.

Have you tried propping her sore hip up on pillows, so she has to lie on the other side, it might just take the pressure off it? Desperately trying to think of things that could help you!

Good luck tomorrow.

thanks sparkle. really appreciate any suggestions.

the pain was bad last night, again she almost got to sleep, then it kicked in, she finds it easiest to sleep on the good hip. If she can get into the position when the pain starts.

We seem to have a pattern forming tho. Which is another good thing to be able to tell them tomorrow.
