DD is 19 months old and still very chubby - she was a chubby baby and has not really lost any of her puppy fat. I have noticed that recently people have commented on how big she is, saying they thought she was a 3 year old (she is tall for her age) and her key worker at nursery today struck up a conversation about how much she ate, seemingly to gauge whether I was overfeeding her. She does have an extremely healthy appetite and devours meals. I do restrict the amount of sugary foods she eats and offer fruit as a snack or yoghurt rather than a biscuit but she does have the odd treat.

I realise that I'm writing this that the obvious answer is to take her to the HV to get weighed but I can't do this for a couple of weeks at the earliest and am just wondering whether I should be worrying about this yet? She is very active and has been walking for a good few months now, is this something which will naturally sort itself out when she starts running etc or should I be more vigilant? Any thoughts much appreciated.

If you want an honest answer its a bit difficult unless you post her height and weight.
Then you may get some comparisons, but does she come from a large family, I don't mean overweight, just are they tall and well built because then she stands a chance she will be the same.

Just weigh her on your scales at home?

Difficult to say. My ds2 was very big as a baby and also chubby. He's now very tall and broad but not fat.

OK yes, perhaps I should just get her weighed instead of fannying around on Mumsnet...

I don't have scales at home else I would have weighed her. But thanks for the replies!
