Sent my dd to school today with packed lunch.Came to make a sandwich at lunch time and noticed mold on the next few pieces of bread,am pretty sure none on the bread I used for my dd but if there was is it likely to make her ill?? thanks

I think it will be fine..my almost 3 year old regularly scrounges in the garden for the bread we feed to the birds (obviously we don't feed her) which is if not always moldy then pretty grotty. She has never been ill yet so I'd say its probably OK.

Is mouldy bread not where penicillin originated?

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2010 14:09

well i ate almost a whole sandwich once then turned it over and the underneath was covered
i was fine though, hopefully your dd will be too
I'd only bought the bread the day before

She'll be fine, I'm sure most of us have consumed, at some point, a bit of mould.

I always find with bread that even if one slice is mouldy the next may not be or at least shows no obvious mould.

Thanks for all your replies, the next few slices were moldy but the ones after that were ok - thrown the lot away though
