Cogh/fever/sticky eye...Nursery?

Ok, since starting nursery 3 months ago we have had (as expected) the constant cough/croup with teething. All in all DD (9.5mo) has coped pretty well.

Last 3 days though: awful cough (croup like),constant fever (max 38.5) and kept under control with paracetomol/ibuprofen.Not eating. Milk intake ok. Past 2 days very sticky eyes too.

Inbetween she perks up but when drugs wear off miserable...

This sounds v selfish but have an important meetin tomorrow and considering dosing her up, taking her to nursery and hoping for the best.

Am I wrong?

Also: have a GP friend visiting this weekend who seems quite unfussed by her symptoms...

Advice/reassurance please?

Why are you asking, really?

You want permission, when you know its not right.

It does sound very selfish and if you were to send her in to nursery it would indeed be very selfish.

Do you live with dd's father?

Yes its wrong.

Your GP friend would be non fussed probably since its not as if its life threatening etc.

Your nursery would not be impressed by a kid coming in with those symptoms, nor would the other parents and nor would your wee girl.

Nursery won't keep dosing her up with calpol during the day, they'll call you to get her if she's miserable with a temperature. Especially if the sticky eyes could be conjunctivitis. Also very unfair on your child - nursery is a tough environment for a baby anyway, it'll be no fun for her if she's ill.

Plus, the nursery nurses will hate you!

You could probably take her in in the morning but they will ring you and ask you to take her home.
It sucks when you have something important to do at work, I find that my LO is often ill when I least want her to be!
