I have just brushed Ds's(3)teeth and have noticed one of the front teeth,at the top,has turned grey in colour.I'm now in a panic that it'll turn black and he'll have to have it out
Will phone the dentist on Monday but wondered if anyone out there, has experienced something similar,or know's why this has happened.
Thanks

has he bashed it on something? dd1 fell forward and bashed her frnt teeth on a hard toy when she was about 2 1/2, the tooth looked grey. a year on however, it looks normal ,except when the light catches it at a certain angle.

Thanks, that's interesting to know.He did fall over a couple of weeks ago and hurt his lip quite badly,so may have knocked the tooth too and I hadn't noticed.

We hear of this a lot at the dentists where I work. The dentist usually advises to just leave alone unless he develops any pain or swelling.

It is because the inside of the tooth has been damaged and died, this isn't a problem unless it becomes infected (hence the pain and swelling), they just tend to leave baby teeth alone as they will eventually fall out anyway.

Ds knocked his front teeth when he was about 2. One of them turned yellow but is still hanging on in there and he's nearly 8 now! It's never caused him any pain.

Thanks. It sounds very reassuring to know he's probably knocked it,and it's not decayed, and hopefully being a milk tooth,it will eventually fall out anyway.Thank you.
