Do MMR and Pneumococcal vaccines separately

I have received an invitation for my son to have these two vaccinations done on the same day. I thought it was strange for the NHS to do it on the same day as many children do not feel well after only one MMR. So, I asked a private doctor about it and they recommended a minimum of 6 weeks between any vaccine for a child to reduce all side effects happening together and also to maximise the efficiency of both the vaccines.
Why would NHS add another vaccine knowing how bad some kids feel after the MMR?
What do you think?

I ask and got mine done on two separate days at least a mouth about the nhs were happy to do that it everyone did it would cost them more but at the end of the day they want their sat up.

both dd and ds had theirs together at 13 months or so. They also had their pre-school boosters which is MMR plus the DTaP/IPV jabs. They seemed to cope ok.

Ithink thatthe NHS genuinely feels that there are no ill effects and see no harm in doingthem together
Ithink there is a cost involved and as NHs is spending our money they are rightly obliged to get good value by offering safely combined treatemnts in one visit
I think they also have concerns that the more visits the more chance that disinterested or hard pressed families will simply stop coming - do the first ones but not follow up IYSWIM

Personally I would never have them like that , most I am not having at all, but for the NHS it is a reasonable way to proceed as they see no down side.
Which is perfectly valid in my view
