Hello all
My 3 month old is due to have her first round of jabs this week and I keep trying to do some research about what's in the vaccinations and what the implications of vaccinating or not may be so i can be well informed. Opinions seem to be so extreme about whether it is safe and sensible to go for all the vaccinations, I wondered if anyone has any advice out there, as I'm pretty confused.
Thanks.

I am sure your HV will have given you the book with the info in it.

Although it can be very controversial I sometimes feel that it may be better to have your child immunised than risk them catching the actual infection and not being able to fight it off and be very ill.

Of course it is confusing and if you start to research on the web you can find so many different opinions and experiences that it will make your head spin. I think you have to go with your gut feelings.

Are you worried about a particular vaccination?

I'm worried about the meningitis one which baby is due this week, but it all just seems lilke a lot of chemicals to put in tiny body. however, my baby is also starting nursery at 7 months so probably it is best to vaccinate....

Traditional medicine will tell you to vaccinate, and there are a number of web-sites (www.informedparent.co.uk being one of them) with medical professionals amd homeopaths which will tell you not to. It all depends who you listen to really. Both sides have very convincing arguments.
