Is this something to be worried about? She always has wriggled herself in a very awkward position so that he head can lean to the right side of ther body...never leans her head to the left... Sitting on a babychair, she leans it to the right as well, carrying, she tends to put weight towards right.

I'm getting a bit worried..

speack to your HV, you might also like to get an oestopath consult to check for tightness.

I was also going to suggest that you have her checked out for tightness.

Tightness in the neck can lead to flat head syndrome on one side, so beware if she is always lying on the same side of her head. HV and a lot of doctors are very relaxed about flat head syndrome, making parents feel that they are just worried about cosmetical appearances in their child's headshape. One of my 5 year old twins wore a helmet for about six months from 15 months because he was completely flat at the back, but this was down to intrauterine pressures due to being a twin. Neck tightness can however bring about the same sort of problem. Your baby is still very young and you can sort this quite easily with the right professional support. In the meantime, take a look at www.cranialtech.com. This company is the one that helmeted my son. On their website, they set out something called a positioning protocol which is basically ideas on how to make sure that your child rests on a different part of the head every time they lie down or sit in a bouncy chair. Another great weapon against flat head is a Bumbo chair because here the child does not rest on the head at all, but your daughter is of course far too young for this still.

Sorry to ramble. Please don't worry, this is easy to sort out with a baby so young. Speak to your GP about getting referred for neck stretching exercises. The condition is properly called torticollis.

Good luck.

Sandra
