17 month old vomiting since last night. Still wants to breastfeed. Should I let her?

The vomiting is upsetting her and she really wants a quick feed each time but bringing up the milk the next time.

Should I let her feed or could the milk be causing her to vomit more?

I am going to try some water now. She wouldn't take some 7UP with the fizz out as she never had it before.

Thanks

dd (15 months) has had a few bouts of d and v recently and the advice seems to be to keep up fluids including BF or ff.

I have to saY that when she had diarrhoea the second time-it cleared up more quickly when i just gave her clear fluids.

When any of my DC's have been poorly they have always wanted to feed more.DD1 was quite a sickly child and every health professional we saw confirmed that this was the best thing for her, keeping her hydrated and making her feel more comfortable.I also found that feeding made me feel slightly less helpless in the face of my poorly chid .

Make sure you drink lots of water and this will help prevent you dehydrating while she's feeding more than usual. I hope she's feeling better soon x

Thanks for the replies.

This is the first D&V for her and dd1 didn't have it til she was 3 so a little worried at her vomiting so much when she is so little.

I tried her with a little drink of water and it came back up almost straight away. At least the breast milk is staying down for a little while so I'll let her feed as she wants.

definitely breast feed if it's comforting her, it wont make her sicker and it help with hydration. It'll be the easiest for her tummy while it's upset too. Hope she gets better soon. When my youngest got sick the first time after I was done breastfeeding (I stopped at 20 months) I was absolutely at a loss for how to get fluids into him.

Absolutely, it's much easier while they are stil breastfeeding to give comfort and fluids!
I can confirm what losingtheplot said - every health professional I ever spoke to said it was the best thing for ds.
