Slapped Cheek Syndrome?

Hello - wondered if anyone had anything more than the nhs site on this?

I picked up littlemad from Nursery on Tuesday and it looked like he had sunburn on his cheek, the red patch was warm and looked a bit rash-like - but is a flat red rash rather than a bumpy one. They are usually quite careful with suncream there though.

Yesterday it seem like it was spreading and this morning is on both cheeks, he says he feels Ok, his sleep has been a bit disturbed but then he slept til nearly 7am this morning (unheard of) and is a bit whingy and clingy at the moment. no temp to speak of.

Does it sound like slapped cheek to anyone?
and if so what can I expect/should I do etc etc.
Thanks in advance

Yes same as my DD few years back now.Just a bit under the weather and when the rash came up we took her to the Drs and he diagnosed slapped cheek. As far as I can remember it went after about a week.Slept a bit more but still ate ok.

Oh thanks so much!

I feel sure it's not sunburn as it's not reducing at all and he has the same sort of colouring as me and mine disappears after about 20 mintues!

I vaguely recalled something about slapped cheek but didn't know if I ought to be doing more than, lots of fluids and calpol if he seems to need it (to be fair he's a very hardy boy usually)
