Sorry, not the nicest of subjects I know but feel we live at the doctors some weeks!
Our 6 year old daughter when she goes for poo and I wipe her bum there is always a little blood on the tissue.
She used to be on laxatives even though end had a high fibre diet but came off them 2-3 years ago. She hasn't been straining and it doesn't hurt her so not sure whether we should take her to the Dr's just to be sure.
Any advice or experiences greatfully received.
Thankyou

The most usual reason for blood around the back passage would be anal fissures or piles .... this is most commonly associated with infrequent bowel movements, too hard/dry stools and straining. To keep stools soft & bulky and increase the frequency of bowel movements you're advised to increase intake of fresh fruit & vegetables (particularly kiwifruit, tomatoes, figs, lettuce etc.), eat more wholegrain foods (brown bread, brown rice, wholewheat pasta) & drink a lot more plain fluids.

Should this not improve matters short-term then you should talk to your doctor.

Many thanks, she has a high fibre and veg diet and fruit is not daily normally every other to be honest so will give that a try.
I think we will take her to the Dr's just to be sure,
Thankyou again
