A friend of mines dd almost 2yrs has had warts on her torso and legs for 6months now. They have started increasing in size and she is getting more of them (i gave up counting when reached about 80). Some of them are looking realy red and inflamed. Her mum has been putting sudocrem on them which im not sure will help in anyway but she seems to think it will! I told her to take dd to doctor but she said she did (6 months ago)!! and had been told dd was fine and they would go.
Surely she should be taking her back? She has far more now the poor little las is absolutely coverd in them and it cant be comfortable!
Just wonderd if anyone has any advice as what to do?

Thank you.

It sounds like Molluscum, which is something that hangs around for months - but if some are red and sore it could well be infected. She needs to go back to the GP and get her daughter some antibiotics.

Poor little girl.

LauraIngallsWilder · 22/04/2010 20:32

That sounds horrible!
Is it definately warts - could it be molluscum???

I cant think how sudocreme will help
I agree it must be very uncomfortable and make sleeping a rather tiresome experience

I have no advice though sorry

She should take her back - it maybe her immune system isn't very strong.

Warts are just a virus which the body fights off. My DS had a few aged 10 on his hands and they were v uncomfortable. That is too many, but I'm not sure what they can do, hopefully someone will be along in a mo

If they are warts, then they will fall out of their own accord in four years.

Alternatively, the homoeopathic remedy Thuja 30C will clear them up in three days - they will all fall off.

My DD had two verrucas for two months before we discovered Thuja 30C. Dd took it three times a day for three days and the verrucas (a form of wart virus) just disappeared.
It was just amazing.

Jeane · 22/04/2010 20:41

would that be safe to use on molluscum, though Zazen?

babblington · 22/04/2010 20:44

where can you buy it Zazen?

definitely get her to go back to the GP and ask for an immunologist referral - there was a child on Embarrassing Bodies last week who had bad warts and it turned out she was missing a part of her immune system. Don't want to panic you but this definitely needs to get checked out by a specialist -

You can buy Thuja 30C in Boots, or any chemist where they stock homoeopathic remedies. Or buy it online from Boots or online in nelsonshomeopathy.com where you can find an ointment also. Costs about a fiver for the pillules in Boots - take one straight into the mouth, no touching it with your hands, and take it three times a day.

Here's hoping you have the same marvellous success we had with it - it was just brilliant, and so quick. HTH

Nappy is she usually a caring mum? I'm just a bit worried in case you have other concerns...it seems a bit weird not to take a child with obvious signs of infection to the GP or at least a pharmacy

Seona1973 · 25/04/2010 19:29

they really do sound like molluscum rather than warts and she would have been told to leave them be until they go away. When they go red and angry that can mean that those particular ones are going away (or they could be infected and need antibiotics).

belgo · 25/04/2010 19:33

FLight - all of my children have had these sorts of warts, I don't think I bothered taking any of my children to the doctors for it; they were identified at a routine check up. They can stay for months and months. It's when they get red that they cause an immune response and the immune system starts to fight to get rid of them. otherwise the immune system just doesn't notice them.

Obviously if there were signs of infection and if the child was bothered by them I would probably go to a doctor.

Sorry, I really didn't intend any offence. I had assumed that redness and soreness meant infection and that in turn would require antibiotics.

I'm not sure. I just hope the little girl isn't in too much discomfort.
