Can chickenpoxy dd2 go back to school tomorrow?

Dd2 went down with chickenpox 10 days ago and had quite a nasty case. All spots have scabbed over now and she is quite well in herself, but because she had a lot of spots on her face she still looks a bit 'scary'. Is she OK to go back to school tomorrow, do you think? And can I take her to a farm park this afternoon, to make up for her non-Easter holiday? Would appreciate any and all thoughts, thanks.

If they are all dried up then yes you can, although i would tell her not to pick any of them as that makes them see not dried up if you see what i mean, and she may be sent home. hth

The NHS website says they can go out in public after about 5 or 6 days since the spots appeared, provided they've all scabbed over.

The ones under the nappy tend to take a bit longer as they have less air in my experience.

DS has just had it. The first spot appeared last saturday night and I took him out to the theatre yesterday, so you should be fine.

Thank you very much for your advice. I do want to give her a treat this afternoon, but am a bit worried other mums might be a bit if they see her tearing around the soft play barn with her spotty face.

Think I'll just brazen it out anyway .

Thanks again.

My daughters spots took months to go and i remember going to a park well over 6 weeks after the scabs had formed. Some silly bird tried to give out to me for spreading chicken pox irresponsibly and i had to explain over and over that they didnt have it anymor but the spots were still really prominent.

You know that your daughter is not gonna infect anyone, so have fun and enjoy your day .

My son is lying on the sofa right now, covered from head to toe in chicken pox, but at least he managed to hold off till after easter and wait till the start of the new term! and i know what to expect now.
