My DS has what I can only describe as a 'tight' foreskin which cannot be pulled back, is this normal? His 2 half brothers have had to be circumcized and I really don't want him to have to have this done aswell, any ideas????

Normal - 5 is still quite young in penis/foreskin terms

I've copied and pasted:-

It is usual for the foreskin to be non-retractable in the early years of life, even up to age 8-10 years. There is wide variability in terms of the age at which retraction occurs. Until complete retraction occurs, episodes of redness, smegma collections and ballooning of the foreskin are very common and can be managed symptomatically. Frequently, reassurance is all that is required.

There are very few medical indications for circumcision and this is particularly true under 5 years of age.

As long as he can urinate without the foreskin 'ballooning' with trapped urine and he is not getting infections he will be fine. If he gets infections take to the GP as DS2 had a tight foreskin with a very small opening and he ended up having to have a circumcision.
