Growth Hormone Injections for 5 yo DS? Any advice?

Just wondered if anyone had experience of having to give young children growth hormone injections? We're due to start these soon after our son stopped growing after damage caused to his pituitary gland as a result of radiotherapy to his brain as he had cancer in 2008 (brain tumour)?

So as if chemo and radiotherapy, cataracts and everything else is not enough for our lovely, brave boy, he's now going to have to start growth hormone injections every day....so any advice or experiences you can share would be gratefully received.

I nearly had to have them when I was little but grew just enough in one year to miss out. However, I believe them to be not painful and I don't think there is too much of an issue with having them. I know someone who had the reverse ones as she was growing too tall and they worked very well. I know this isn't too helpful, but I hope a little reassuring.

Else123, that is helpful, thanks as it is a concern that they'll be painful and I guess I am worried that I'll be doing the hurting as the neuroendocrine doc has said until our DS is 7-8 yo, I'll be doing the injecting.

Anyway, thanks for your posting.
