Sorry you are feeling . It must be scary for you. Just thought I would try and reassure by saying my DS (14 months)has had quite a few MRI scans over the last few months and bounces back fine. I'm sure at 3.3 it will be harder as your DS will know what is going on, but in terms of the actual scan they have always been very straightforward. DS has been a little bit like a bear with a sore head when coming round fromt he GA, but within half an hour of coming round and having some milk he is back to his normal self. I hope it all goes well and your DS is fine

Poor you. Hope it goes well and is over in a jiffy. Try and get a least some sleep tonight.

my dn has had quite a few MRI scans and he has always been fine. they bounce back pretty quickly. it is a bit upsetting when they go to sleep in your arms but he wont remember a thing my dn is 7 now and never mentions it. good luck and try not to worry

I'll second what HZ said. DD has had loads of MRIs over the past year (she's 4 and a half now). The first few GAs she had she was a bit upset for up to an hour after waking up, that's a normal reaction to a GA. She is always absolutely fine after that though. Make sure that you have lots of things to distract him in the morning while you are waiting to go down. If he's not first on the list, then the ward might get a bit loud as the first children are coming back, which I've always thought might be a bit scary for smaller kids.

Try not to worry too much - by the afternoon he will be proudly showing off all his bravery stickers to anyone who'll look!

I hope it goes ok. My DS is having a GA for the second time in about 6 weeks on Friday so I know how you feel but I agree with the other posts. Hard on us but they bounce back quickly.
