aimless wandering during seizures

I'm finding it difficult to find any info/cases on a child walking off during absence seizures,
Dd1 has an appointment in 2 weeks to be tested for absence epilepsy. I've finally accepted that the "daydreams" she is having are seizures. She seems to having more now (or am I just noticing more?). The most unsettling thing is the wandering off aimlessly during her absences - I have to hold her hand or be close enough to grab her near roads etc.
I have only found 1 citation for this on the net (i know i shouldn't google...). Most say children just freeze during absence seizures (dd1 does this too sometimes, but is more likely to suddenly start walking).

Someone out there must have experianced this??? I know that I have to wait to ask the professionals but another 2 weeks seems so long away. Both me & dd1 are upset about what's happening. I just need to talk

I'm sorry I can't help but wanted to keep bumped for you. Can you call and ask for a sooner appointment and express your concerns for your dds safety during these seizures? I hope all goes well. I am sure once you are seen by the appropriate paeds things will improve xxx

Thanks Charlie. The waiting list was April, managed to get a mid-march one as the soonest available.
Thanks x
