26 week old DD2 is really sick with CP. I would really appreciate some advice from those hat have experinced CP in one so young.

the following are my concens:

I have noticed today that she is drinking a lot less formula than normal and has a few spots in mouth and a sore looking throat.

are these symptoms normal. is loss of appetite something that goes on for a while (she normally drinks 30oz / day and now down to 15-20oz)

Its Day 4 of the illness and temp really high for last 24 hours but comes down with ccalpol should i just keep dosing. it seemed to go high on day 3 when most spots appeared.

she doesn't seem too miserable just won't swallow anything (medicine) and her spots are still appearing but most scabbed over now. Its day 4. How much longer

TIA for sharing your experiences

MY DS had it at 16 weeks and TBH, it's normally worse if they get it aged 1-2 years.

Loss of appetite is usual but if you think she's really not drinking properly, check for dehydration - does she have wet nappies? Is the fontanelle depressed? I would keep giving calpol and/or calbruprofen if you can - you need to bring the fever down for her to feel better. Speak to your GP if you think she's having too much.

If the spots are scabbing then the worst is over with. Hope she feels better soon, CP is horrid.

Forgot to add, if she won't swallow the medicine, syringe it to the back of her throat - not pleasant but it will get it in.

yentil ,they actually get chicken pox in the whole of their gastro intestinal tract when they get it badly. Both my boys had it in their mouths and in their urethras. Their willies were so swollen it was painful to look.
