dentist or not?

DS (3) fell down the stairs yesterday and banged his mouth. Gums above front top teeth bled.

Bleedng did stop fairly quickly and his teeth are still there - I could not feel any wobbling although I was being quite gentle I suppose. He had some calpol and a sleep for an hour. Seemed okay after that and was not complaining of pain just that his mouth "ached" a bit. Ate okay but I gave him just soft food.

Gum today still looks very bruised but he seems fine - let me brush them gently. DH thinks he will be fine but I am still really worried.

Should I get him to the dentist today or am I being PFBish?

Could his teeth be damaged anyway?

My son did this at 2.5, fell right on his 2 front teeth. Lots of bleeding and bruising directly from gum above teeth. One of his front teeth went grey after bruising went and is still a little off White. I did take to dentist as his bruise under inside of his lip went black. Hth

There's not very much they can do in such cases, I think. FWIW, ds fell and almost knocked his (adult) 2 bottom teeth out. They were definitely wobbly. Took him to the dentist, who just said that usually they 'reattach' themselves in kids and to come back if they will start changing colour ( I guess that would mean they died).
If they are not wobbly, I wouldn't bother, I think.
