Stomach pain after eating

Hi, wondered if anyone could help. My dd (3 and a half) was suddenly sick two weeks ago today and then had a very high temperature. I took her to the docs and he said it was a throat infection and gave antibiotics. She seemed fine after one dose and back to normal which was a relief. Two days later my ds (16 months) and I very vomiting but only once or twice each. The next day I felt pretty queasy but wasn't sick again but the queasiness has been cooming and going for about 6 days. Then last Tuesday (5 days after ds and I were sick), my dd started throwing up. She was sick on and off all day on Tuesday (about 6 times in all) and since then has complained and cried most of the day about tummy pain and slept a lot. I took her to the docs on Friday as she was still in a lot of pain and he said it was the winter vomiting bug. However, yesterday and today, she has said she's hungry but every time she has something to eat, 15 or 20 mins later, she is doubled over in pain and has to lie down quietly to try and relieve the pain. Does this sound right following a sickness bug or do you think she has something else? Having been to the doctors twice in the past two weeks I am starting to feel like a paranoid mother so don't want to go again if it's just what happens when you start eating again after a sickness bug??? Any thoughts? Obviously having googled I'm now worrying about stomach ulcers and all sorts!

No sorry PixieOnaLeaf I was ambiguous in what I wrote...what I meant was, she felt and seemed better after only one dose but yes, we still finished the course and the tonsillitis cleared up (although I was dubious about whether she had this in the first place as she never complained of a sore throat).

Yes I was worrying about appendicitis and said that to the doctor on Friday but he felt her tummy and said 'no definitely not appendicitis'. It wasn't our normal doctor though so if she doesn't improve by tomorrow, perhaps I should take her back...I just feel like I'm going to be seen as being overly fussy. Trouble with NHS direct is they always tell you to go to out of hours doctor to cover themselves in my experience.

It's difficult to tell because she's only 3 and a half so just randomly points to her tummy when you ask her to point to where it hurts. Sometimes, like first thing this morning, she seems fine but then after she ate her breakfast, 20 mins later she was crying in pain and had to go upstairs and lie down for half an hour. My mum just keeps saying that's what happens after you've had a tummy bug and that once you start eating again your tummy hurts a bit because you're not used to it...which is making me think I'm being a hyperchondriac about it but then again, I'm not sure she should be in pain after eating?? Trouble is my dd is quite melodramatic at the best of times so it's difficult to know but she does honestly seem in pain after food. Thanks for your replies PixieOnaLeaf.

Thanks for that...although we've been quite careful to try and avoid dairy so not sure that's it...well, apart from this morning when admittedly we did let her have milk for the first time.
