Cranial Osteopathy - what does it cure?

Please tell me in what ways this has helped your baby and what sort of conditions it helps with? Is it just for those babies who might have had a traumatic birth and as a result are very unsettled at night (due to headaches and pains - that's what my DH thinks cranial osteopathy is for)? Or does it help with other problems, such as colic, eczema even? Just curious for my DS3. Let's just say he's quite unsettled, sleeps terribly, and quite grumpy / unhappy in the day time too. He has eczema which may be what is keeping him awake at night. He's had colic, but not too bad (infacol helps). Perhaps he is just 'grumpy', which if that is the case, that's fine if that's just how he is! He's older brother was very similar in personality when he was a baby (eventually calmed down although always been a very sensative little boy). But if there is anything I can do to help him, I'm willing to try.

imo I think it works because it gives an external diagnosis of your baby's problems (i.e. one that is unrelated to any failings you think you have as a parent or anything internal about the baby's character). Thus her behaviour is normalised and therefore accepted. You become more relaxed and less stressed and thus take back some control. The baby picks up on your growing confidence and relaxes.

others may be along that dissagree

I'm not too stressed about DS3's problems really as DS1 was very similar and I was very stressed about him, so I've been here before. I'd just like to help him feel more content with his little life if I can. If there is something troubling him, physically, that can be helped with then I'm willing to try. Thing is he can't tell me what's causing him to be so unsettled at night and a bit hyper-sensative in the daytime too. Perhaps it is just a baby thing and a character thing. DS2 slept like a dream and he is so chilled out he is almost horizontal!

Cured my 5 year old son's glue ear. I wish I had known about it when he was a fractious sleepless baby! He is 12 now and goes occasionally at hiscrequest if he is feeling anxious or upset. We are fans.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm curious... I don't know what's bothering DS3 though but something is.

I had it for dd for colic but I don't think it helped at all. What is your ds' issues? X

It helps by very gently adjusting the skeletal stuff to where it should be. So a fast birth or even c-section birth, or excessive screaming can give them a headache like it would us through tension etc and it can relieve that.

Glur ear, sinus problems, anxiety, any bumps and falls can knock the child off and it can be 'put right', sore heads, helps my DD's speech problems.
