Does this sound like a D&V bug or something else?

DD1, who will be 4 in May, vomited once on Thursday night but seemed fine the next day and was fine all weekend.

She started throwing up again in the middle of last night and has been sick several times since. No diahorrea as yet.

Does this sound normal for a vomiting bug or could it be something else?

The only other thing it could be is an allergy to something-seems like a long gap when she was ok ifyswim-did she have any other allergic symptoms-rash etc? She may just be unlucky and have 2 separate strains of a vomiting bug-did she eat something like fish or eggs on both occasions? With both allergies and stomach bugs you may not get diarrhoea-stick to clear fluids and avoid dairy/sugary stuff until she is better.

Thanks oddgirl. She does have allergies and we are careful with what she eats but am trying to think if there was something she ate both times that could have been a trigger.

She did complain of a tummy ache a few hours before vomiting both times though.

She is a bit tired and lethargic today (she was awake half the night so that seems reasonable) but no vomiting since 9 this morning.

I'll just keep an eye on her for now.

It's worrying though. DH working late tonight and my car is out of action. Hope she doesn't get worse

Hope she feels better soon-the main problem with vomiting and/or diarrhoea is dehydration and electrolyte loss (mainly potassium and magnesium)-with babies they can become dry very rapidly and become very unwell mainly because their bodies are a high proportion of water-older children like your DD have more reserve but still need to be kept an eye on-as long as she isnt floppy/unresponsive/lethargic just up the clear fluids (water and/or diorylie)and dont worry about food so much.
Its awful when you are on yr own I know
Hope this helps
