17 Month dd, still only 2 teeth, teething very badly, high temp, chewing lips, gums, fingers in mouth, bright pink cheeks, miserable, restless... oh the joy. But last night, after I had dosed her up, she feel asleep with her dummy in her mouth in my arms, and I held for five minutes or so. She was chomping on her dummy, but then five or six times, stopped breathing and held her breath for about 20 seconds (maybe?) until she drew breath and groaned and cried. Anyone have any experience of this - I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. it was pretty scary last night. Thanks.

A&E is 45 minutes away, so I wouldn't have made it as she stopped once awake and hasn't done it again. However we are booked for the doctors tomorrow. Thanks for pressing the urgency - first time mums always think they are over-reacting!

spoke to NHS direct at 3.30am as DD was trembling poor little mite - had to strip her down, reduce temperature, they got the after hours doctor to call me who said all was fine once her temperature had stablised. been to the gp today - they can't see anything wrong.. think it's a virus. so off to buy more nurofen. have been lucky enough to have 2 hours sleep myself this afternoon, so I'm ready for tonight again! thanks for advice, think it is one of those things. She was happy as larry this morning at breakfast.
