DD - smelly bits, needs a wee, etc

DD1 has had smelly bits for a few months now. She is 3 years old and doesn't wear nappies anymore. I've looked (when she's let me) and she looks a bit sore between the lips of her labia. I wipe her when she goes to the toilet (as she won't do it) so it's not that.
She has also been acting funny about needing a wee for the last few days - she keeps grabbing her bits and saying wee is coming out but there's nothing there. She has also been going on the toilet repeatedly then getting off without doing anything whilst saying she needs a wee.
She has been acting fine apart from this.
Is it worth trying to get her to the docs today or waiting until monday when I can see my local doc? Usually when I take my kids they tell me to leave it and it will go away which drives me mad

Also meant to add that I've tried putting nappy creams on her and I've tried canestan but she kicks up a fuss & won't let me put it on more than once a day!

Does she have temp? Could be urine infec. Sounds uncomfy for her bless her heart. I'd prob go today and if they fob you off at least you've been and you can then see your usual dr on Monday. I too hate seeing locum drs! Hope it's better soon. Failing that you could ask the pharmacist. X

I would get the to dip the urine to test for protein. If its a urine infection you want to get it sorted. Ds had a urine infection but with no pain and we didnt knnow what it was (was under 2 so not potty trained etc) and got pain a few days later and ended up on bloody antibiotics for 4 months.

I think she needs the Dr today.
Dont be fobbed off.

last time i had a urine infection i put off going to the docs and ended up peeing blood and with a kidney infection too.

in the words of my gp 'the earlier you come in with a bladder infection the better'

My dd had a urine infection twice(age almost 3 then 4), both times she had antibiotics, a kidney scan and a follow up appointment with a paediatrician.

I would get an appointment asap.

Also, she's had it a few months? Could it be thrush or something like that?

She doesn't have a temp but she is acting odd about needing a wee so I'll take her to my good local doc on monday morning just in case

My DD had lots of problems like this when she was little. If you can't get to a doctor till monday try her with some cranberry juice.
