ds has been under the care of a hospital consultant since 2007 for food allergies / intolerances. we moved house last august and the decision was taken to move him to the more local hospital

i received an appointment in january for the other hospital, however he is not due to be seen until april at the earliest as it is 6 monthly checkups. i called the secertary to explain that he wouldnt be attending the appointment for various reasons, firstly because he believes that if he goes to a hospital he will die and i am less than keen on this train of thought continuing.

i asked nicely if he could be given an appointment in april however, apprently they have targets to make so that isnt good, and sent me another appointment which this time i could not attend and again called to cancel and re-explain the situation only for the consultant secertary to discharge him from the consultants care without any medical input what so ever and despite me telling her he has a prescription etc

so now he has no consultant and i now need to back to my gp to re-request he is referred and just to add to my stress they have lost his notes

your GP should be able to get authority from consultant to continue with prescription, thats if you need anything in the short term.

Some clinics/hospitals have a standard discharge if you miss two appnts, however this can usually be sorted with a call from your gp to the consultants secretary.
